Live Monitoring

Watch players progress through your hunt in real-time

What is Live Monitoring?

Live monitoring lets you watch player activity as it happens. See who has joined, which clues they've solved, and how far along each player or team is.

Accessing the Monitor

  1. Open your published hunt
  2. Click "Monitor" or "Live Dashboard"
  3. The monitoring view opens with real-time data

Dashboard Overview

The monitoring dashboard shows:

Summary Stats

  • Active Players: How many are currently playing
  • Total Players: Everyone who has joined
  • Completed: Number who finished the hunt
  • Average Progress: How far along players are on average

Player List

Each player or team shows:

  • Name
  • Current clue (which one they're on)
  • Progress bar
  • Time since last activity
  • Track (if using multiple tracks)

Activity Feed

Real-time stream of events:

  • Player joined
  • Clue completed
  • Hint requested
  • Hunt completed

Monitoring Multiple Tracks

If your hunt has multiple tracks:

  • Filter the view by track
  • See track-specific progress
  • Monitor sync gates between tracks
  • Compare progress across teams

Sync Gate Status

When players reach sync gates, you'll see:

  • Which teams are waiting
  • Which teams haven't arrived yet
  • Time spent waiting
  • When the gate opens

Host Actions

From the monitor, you can:

Manage Players

  • View individual player details (current clue, progress, last seen)
  • Skip a clue for stuck players (force complete current clue)
  • Remove disruptive or disconnected players from the session

Control the Hunt

  • Force unlock sync gates manually if teams are waiting too long
  • End the session early if needed

Caution: Skipping clues, unlocking gates early, or removing players affects the game experience. Use these controls sparingly!

Mobile Monitoring

The monitor works on mobile devices, so you can:

  • Walk around your event while monitoring
  • Help players who seem stuck
  • Be ready at the finish line

After the Hunt

When the event ends, the monitor shows:

  • Final completion statistics (total players, completed players)
  • Real-time player progress remains visible

Tips for Event Hosts

  • Keep it open: Leave the monitor running throughout your event
  • Watch for stragglers: Help players who fall too far behind
  • Celebrate completions: Be ready to congratulate finishers
  • Take screenshots: Capture memorable moments from the dashboard

Pro tip: Display the monitor on a big screen at your event so spectators can follow the action!
